Website Use Information
Similar to other commercial websites, our website utilizes a standard technology called “cookies” (see explanation below, “What Are Cookies?”) and web server logs to collect information about how our website is used. Information gathered through cookies and web server logs may include the date and time of visits, the pages viewed, and time spent at our website. We, our advertisers, and ad serving companies may also use small pieces of code called “web beacons,” “tags,” and “pixels” to determine which advertisements and promotions users have seen and how users responded to them. Personally, identifiable information is not stored in these cookies, web beacons, tags, or pixels. Instead, we use a third-party tracking service, wix.com, that uses cookies and log files to track non-personally identifiable information about visitors to our site in the aggregate, usage, and volume statistic to help us better understand the needs of our visitors.
How Do We Use the Information That You Provide to Us?
Broadly speaking, we use personal information to administer and expand our business activities, provide customer service, and make available other products and services to our members, prospective members, vendors, visitors, and consultants. Occasionally, we also use the information we collect to notify you about important changes to our website, new services, and special offers we think you will find valuable. In addition, you have the opportunity to opt-in or opt-out any time you receive an email from us by notifying us at any time if you do not wish to receive these offers by contacting us.
Communications from our Site/Choice-Opt Out
If you register on our site or purchase any products from the site, you can expect to receive a welcome email and/or an order confirmation email. If you have registered with our site, you may receive communications (newsletters, updates, product information, and alerts). However, we may need to send critical service updates from the site from time to time. You may not opt-out of receiving these critical service updates. If you wish to change your preferences for receiving communications from the site, please contact us.
What Are Cookies?
A cookie is a very small text document, which often includes a unique anonymous identifier. When you visit a website, that site’s computer asks your computer for permission to store this file in a part of your hard drive specifically designated for cookies. Each website can send its cookie to your browser if your browser’s preferences allow it, but (to protect your privacy) your browser only permits a website to access the cookies it has already sent to you, not the cookies sent to you by other sites. Some of our business partners (e.g., advertisers) use cookies that originate from their sites. Unfortunately, we have no access to or control over these cookies. See “Third Party Advertisers.”
How Do We Use Information We Collect from Cookies?
As you shop or register on our website, the site uses its cookies to differentiate you from other shoppers and visitors, so your shopping cart or viewing preferences are only available to you. In some cases, we also use cookies to prevent you from seeing unnecessary advertisements or requiring you to log in more than is necessary for security. In conjunction with our webserver’s log files, Cookies allow us to calculate the aggregate number of people visiting our website and which parts of the site are most popular. In addition, the cookies help us gather feedback in order to continuously improve our website and better serve our guests. Cookies do not allow us to gather any personal information about you, and we do not store any personal information that you provided to us in your cookies.
Sharing Information with Third Parties
We enter into alliances, partnerships, or other business arrangements with third parties who will be given access to personal information (including, but not limited to, your email address) for the purpose of providing you information regarding products and services that we think will be of interest to you and that you have opted-in to receive unless you opt-out of receiving such communications.
Service Providers
We use third parties to perform our credit processing and email services on our site. Our credit card processing company will facilitate the transaction when you purchase a product from us. An email service provider will provide our email services. We will share billing and email information as necessary with the third party to provide that service.
These third parties are prohibited from using your personally identifiable information for any other purpose, including their marketing purposes.
Notice of New Services and Changes
Occasionally, we may also use the information we collect to notify you about important changes to our website, new services, and special offers we think you will find valuable. You have the opportunity to opt-in for these notifications at registration, and you have the opportunity to notify us of your desire not to receive these offers at a later day by contacting us.
How Do We Secure Information Transmissions?
We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect the personal information submitted to us, both during transmission and once we receive it. However, no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
If you have any questions about security on our website, you can contact us.
Email is not recognized as a secure medium of communication. For this reason, we request that you do not send private information to us by email. Pages utilizing this technology will have URLs that start with HTTPS instead of HTTP. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
How Can You Access and Correct Your Information?
You can update your registration information by contacting us.
Certain Disclosures
We may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or subpoena or if we believe that such action is necessary to (a) conform to the law or comply with legal process served on Affiliated Parties or us; (b) protect and defend our rights and property, the site, the users of the site, and/or our Affiliated Parties; or (c) act under the circumstances to protect the safety of users of the site, us, or third parties.
